Analysis of a Discrete-Time Queueing Model with Disasters

Queueing models with disasters can be used to evaluate the impact of a breakdown or system reset in service facility. In this paper, we consider discrete-time single-server queueing general independent arrivals and times study effect occurrence on behavior. Disasters occur independently from time slot according Bernoulli process result simultaneous removal all customers system. General probability distributions are allowed for both number customer during length (expressed slots). Using two-dimensional Markovian state description system, obtain expressions probability, generating functions, mean values, variances tail probabilities content sojourn an arbitrary under first-come-first-served policy. The loss due disaster is derived as well. Some numerical illustrations given.
